Totally awesome Dominion match and win on Shyvana (again). I’ve started building her a bit more tanky for Dominion and it’s totally working. And I do adore the Ironscale skin. Gonna see if I can keep up the momentum and score silver TODAY.

Only 3 More for Silver
Besides a most enjoyable Classic PvP win last night as Sona, I also picked up another Dominion PvP win as Shyvana. Only 3 more Dominion wins for silver!! And I finally crossed the threshold into gold for points captured. Woot!
Nice Win
Sometimes a Classic PvP match goes…well, pert near perfect. Just had such a match on Sona. Laned bot with Vayne. Pushed our lane perfectly. Started pulling 3 and 4 of em as they tried to shut us down but team helped out. Got Baron. Finished ’em off around 52 minutes. Good rhythm throughout. Was nice.
Now the dilemma is do I go to bed on a good note, or push my luck and try one more before bed? (PS I decided to savor the win and crawled into bed around 1am).
F’in Gorgeous
Had bought the Exiled Morganna skin recently on sale but just got the chance to play with her. OMFG IT’S GORGEOUS IN GAME!! I am soooo, sooooo in love. I have the Blackthorn skin and luv it, too, but the in-game auras and the vivid red, wow. Seriously beautiful stuff. I bow deeply to the designers at Riot.
And it is definitely official. Morganna is my fave AP mage, with Cassiopeia a close second. The Dark Binding + Tormented Soil is just too fun.
Quick Game
Have about 30 minutes before having to pick up a kiddo from a friends. Hopping into a Classic Bots game with Morganna cuz the PvP Dominion queue was proving too long. And I can create an entire post in the time it is taking for all 5 of us to summon. Multi-tasking is a beautiful thing.
Skin Name Font Sizes
OK, so I’ve been waiting for Riot to mess with the font size of the various skin names for a while. I have Road Warrior Miss Fortune, and I knew they couldn’t leave it be cuz “Road Warrior Miss Fortune” extended into the shading around the frame. But Riot…the different font sizes is worse, IMHO.
My guess is that this “too longness” was exacerbated when translating (German is the worst in that regard, from what I understand) OR the designers couldn’t bear the longer names. But visually, having different font sizes for summoner names just looks wrong. You have my sympathy, but please change it. I like the summoner name fonts all the same size!!
Happy Valentine’s
So the family meal is complete – a delicious new shrimp scampi recipe I whipped up – and Grandma has gone home for the evening. Tweener is in the shower, youngest and Dad playing Star Wars II on the Xbox 360, I have enjoyed multiple glasses of wine and on the couch as usual with my laptop. All is good in the world for our tiny universe. Savoring this moment and hoping that many have enjoyed some measure of goodness this day. Happy Valentine’s.
Hopes Dashed
What is it with the last person not accepting a match? Can I report the last person? “Dear Riot, please ban every last person who fails to accept a match. It would make me very happy.”
And the timing would have been so perfect. The 3.02 patch preview had just ended. I had only been in the queue a minute or two and the dong of a match beginning went off. I thought “oh wow, I got a short queue!” and that gol’ darn last person didn’t accept. Dreams shattered. Hopes dashed. I’ve now waited 15+ minutes. Sigh.
First Go on Taric
So you know it’s gonna be a bad match when you die at level 1. It’s been forever since that has happened to me, and in Classic Bots? OMG, shameful. Ended up with 16 assists and spent a lovely long time just wiping out champs on their platform with Thresh and someone else, hovering at low health but totally wiping them out time after time, which was very fun, but I am a long way from mastering him. About what I would expect on first go.
And don’t know if he says anything annoying, I had the volume turned all the way down.
Bought Taric
So I luv playing Sona support in Classic and I watched @Dazed_FD play Taric in ranked today. Decided to spend some of my growing stockpile of IP on him. My champion closet is extremely estrogen heavy, by design, so we’ll see how he gels with the gals. And with me.
I also have a fascination with the AotFA skin. Femme Planet of the Apes. Is it also really an old WoW joke? Anyhoo, I’ve spent the last hour browsing Twitter and talking with DH and not playing. I better start before running out late night to grab Starbursts for the preschooler’s homeade Valentines. Which turned out fabulously.
But I digress. Playing Taric. Now. Not gonna horrify my oldest just yet with the pink Taric (though it is so awful it’s awesome). And if Taric says annoying things like Garen he might get sold back to Riot.
