What is it with the last person not accepting a match? Can I report the last person? “Dear Riot, please ban every last person who fails to accept a match. It would make me very happy.”

And the timing would have been so perfect. The 3.02 patch preview had just ended. I had only been in the queue a minute or two and the dong of a match beginning went off. I thought “oh wow, I got a short queue!” and that gol’ darn last person didn’t accept. Dreams shattered. Hopes dashed. I’ve now waited 15+ minutes. Sigh.

First Go on Taric

So you know it’s gonna be a bad match when you die at level 1. It’s been forever since that has happened to me, and in Classic Bots? OMG, shameful. Ended up with 16 assists and spent a lovely long time just wiping out champs on their platform with Thresh and someone else, hovering at low health but totally wiping them out time after time, which was very fun, but I am a long way from mastering him. About what I would expect on first go.

And don’t know if he says anything annoying, I had the volume turned all the way down.

Bought Taric

So I luv playing Sona support in Classic and I watched @Dazed_FD play Taric in ranked today. Decided to spend some of my growing stockpile of IP on him. My champion closet is extremely estrogen heavy, by design, so we’ll see how he gels with the gals. And with me.

I also have a fascination with the AotFA skin. Femme Planet of the Apes. Is it also really an old WoW joke? Anyhoo, I’ve spent the last hour browsing Twitter and talking with DH and not playing. I better start before running out late night to grab Starbursts for the preschooler’s homeade Valentines. Which turned out fabulously.

But I digress. Playing Taric. Now. Not gonna horrify my oldest just yet with the pink Taric (though it is so awful it’s awesome). And if Taric says annoying things like Garen he might get sold back to Riot.

This One Made Me Laugh

I don’t play Garen. His dialogue in game annoys me to the point of pain. Just can’t do it. Only bought him because my tween wanted to buy Lux and, well, Garen is her brother, and we enjoyed a few fun sister and brother matches before he tired of Lux and another champ captured his fancy. Seriously…can’t…do it. I actually stopped playing MF for a long time because her maniacal laugh during Make It Rain just drove me insane. I got over it with MF and love playing her, but could never make it happen with through-and-through Demacian Garen.

That being said, still found this Garen comic quite amusing. I am also a sucker for Viso-like flow charts.

Say it isn’t so? Oh bleepity bleep argh!! How is it that I didn’t realize that the cool silver and gold and jewel-encrusted summoner frames were only Season 2 rewards? I sure hope that forum post was malarcky (how DO you spell that word?) but it rings true. Now don’t get me wrong, I still want to go silver in Dominion but I really, really, really, really wanted that pretty silver frame *big pout*. I think I’ll cry now.

After a loss I just snagged a win! WOOT! Played Riven both times (with her boss Season 2 Champion skin). Had been a long time since I’d played her and had to remember her E shield n dash. Did much better on the second go. I’m now down to just 4 more wins for silver. Proly a lame achievement by many gamers’ standards but for me, I am totally stoked.

Why I Luv LoL

A hard question to answer as there is so much to say. Fast-paced action, an amazing amount of variability in game play with a small and manageable number of abilities, gorgeous graphics and skins, oodles of champions to play and aquire, the chance to connect with my tweener, and so much more. For me as a busy mom, having a game that I can jump in and out of but still have an ongoing relationship with is huge. While I still adore MMORPG’s, I am finding that I cannot maintain my interest over time like I have been able to with LoL. Riot Games, you guys totally rock. Thank you, thank you!

Given I have limited time, went for Classic Bots as the queue is always super short and the games reliably last only 20 mins or so. Picked Cassiopeia and am decked out in the Jade Fang Lunar Revel skin. So, so happy.

So the young one is in bed, the oldest reading until lights out, and time for Mom to squeeze in a game of League. Woot! Gaming is my escape and I’ve been falling asleep at night rather than stay up and play. Not good for my overall mental and emotional health. Seriously.
