24 Wins to Plat

So continuing to slowly make my way to Platinum in ARAM. While I did finally get through the provisional Ranked matches for Normal (yea!) and secured my silver frame for the duration of the upcoming season, I continue to be plagued by random lag spikes that makes me hesitant to jump into Ranked Normal matches. For example, in the ARAM match tonight that secured my 276th ARAM win, I was helping take down the nexus when I was stuck in a never ending “Attempting to Reconnect” moment that continued even after I got up and left and came back and required me to leave the game before it resolved. Not the sort of experience that makes me eager to jump into Ranked matches…

Silver in ARAM

Just had a super fun match as Cassiopeia. I’ve rolled her a few times in ARAM of late and it is so, so, so much fun. Went 22/13/33. It would have been a rockin’ awesome out-of-this-world match for me had it been more like 22/6/33 or even 22/8/33. Not dying is almost as big a goal for me as kills. As long as I am out there doing damage, then I’m ok not getting fed. But I can’t complain…I rarely get over 20 kills in ARAM, so it was a real treat.

I’ve also been enjoying my Silver badges in ARAM. I realize that for all you Gold and Platinum and diamond-encrusted, otherwise-adorned badge owners, it may seem small, but I am quite pleased.

Loong Way To Go

So a neighbor who’s now in college was online last night and through chat asked “wanna play a game?” I said “sure” and before I know it, I’m in the ranked queue for the very first time with an entire team where each has at least 300 to 400 ranked wins under their belt. GULP.

Needless to say I was way out of my league (no pun intended) but did have a great time. Played Sona support, which is my only marginally comfortable role in Classic so far. It was a super close game the whole way but we ultimately lost. We likely would have won if I could have held up my role better but they were awfully nice to me and I now have the itch to play ranked.

I am bummed that there is no ranked Dominion…or do I just not know how to get into it? In truth, I’ve played Classic PvP enough times that I have no idea how the Ranked Solo/Duo queue evaded my notice until last night, but it did.

After my extremely humbling experience with players faaaar better than I, I did queue up Solo Ranked again, placing me in a team with a similar lack of experience, and to my relief we handily won at 33 minutes. So going forward, I have a new goal. Going for Silver in Classic Ranked!

Got My Silver

At long last, I have all silver (and one gold) badge in Dominion. Went 10/6/15 on Shyvana with 1170 points (which was a lowly 4th on my team). A huge victory for the PvP noob that I am. Woot, woot, wooooooottttt!! Now on to gold across the board…

So have a bit of time this AM to catch a quick game of League before heading to work. Hoping the Dominion PvP queue isn’t too long. Volume set high so I can hear the dong to accept. Fingers crossed.

Really, One More?

As I have repeatedly posted, I have been on a mini quest for silver badges in Dominion. Last night I scored what I thought was my last PvP win on Shyvana, bringing my wins total to 25. I immediately went to check my stats overview and whaaaa? It’s still bronze. So either I am misinformed on the number needed, which is totally possible, or I need to 26 wins, rather than 25, for the badge to update. Boo hoo!

On the bright side, it just means playing more Dominion PvP. That I don’t mind at all!!

One More To Go

Just one more Dominion win for silver – woot! Silly goal, I know, but I’m excited. Been rocking Dominion with Shyvana, placing 1st in my last 3 matches. Though now I am wonderin’ what will be my next goal…silver in Classic? Much biggger time commitment and right now my only effective play option, given my current lack of Classic PvP expertise, is Sona support. So while I would eventually get the wins, I’ll be lagging in Takedowns and Minion / Monster kills. Not sure what I’ll do next. For now, my focus is one more to go!

Totally awesome Dominion match and win on Shyvana (again). I’ve started building her a bit more tanky for Dominion and it’s totally working. And I do adore the Ironscale skin. Gonna see if I can keep up the momentum and score silver TODAY.

Besides a most enjoyable Classic PvP win last night as Sona, I also picked up another Dominion PvP win as Shyvana. Only 3 more Dominion wins for silver!! And I finally crossed the threshold into gold for points captured. Woot!

Say it isn’t so? Oh bleepity bleep argh!! How is it that I didn’t realize that the cool silver and gold and jewel-encrusted summoner frames were only Season 2 rewards? I sure hope that forum post was malarcky (how DO you spell that word?) but it rings true. Now don’t get me wrong, I still want to go silver in Dominion but I really, really, really, really wanted that pretty silver frame *big pout*. I think I’ll cry now.
